A year at our school
CGHS Celebrates International Woman's Day
Our prefects attended the United Nations International Women’s Day luncheon hosted by Celeste Barber, celebrating the achievements and empowerment of women worldwide. Meanwhile, students marked the occasion at school, where guest speakers highlighted the importance of empowerment and gender equality.
CGHS Students Shine in Musical
Our 2025 musical production, Charlotte and the Chocolate Factory, was a spectacular celebration of creativity, teamwork, and talent! Students across all year groups brought this original, student-devised show to life through music, acting, dance, costume, and set design.
Debating
Our 2025 debating season has officially wrapped up, and what a fantastic year it’s been! Our Year 7 team made it all the way to the regional finals, while our Year 10 team proudly ranked in the top 8 in the state in the Premier’s Debating Challenge. Despite a tough loss to GRC Penshurst - they have shown extraordinary dedication and skill throughout the season. Congratulates to all our debators on an outstanding effort!
STEM Collaboration with CBHS
Our students have been busy exploring exciting STEM opportunities this year. They partnered with Deloitte through the Emerging Technology Project, where they tackled real-world challenges by designing innovative tech solutions. Our STEM enrichment programs also brought students together with peers from Canterbury Boys High School to collaborate on engineering projects, giving them hands-on experience, boosting their confidence, and encouraging them to pursue their passions. We’re proud to see our girls growing as confident, creative problem-solvers ready for the future!
Perfects host IFTA Celebration
During Ramadam our prefects continued the tradition of organising an IFTA celebration at school. It was a wonderful that brought together our families, friends and members of the community.
Ms Cameron raises over $10,000
Our principal Ms Cameron participated in the Vinnies CEO Sleepout, an event dedicated to raising awareness and funds for homelessness. Spending the night outdoors, sleeping on a piece of cardboard with only a sleeping bag and a basic meal. We the help of our school community she reaised over $10,000.
Curiosity is Ignited at Enrichment Day
Year 5 students from a range of primary schools actively participated in a comprehensive two-day high school experience hosted at Canterbury Girls. Through engaging in diverse learning activities and exploring the school environment, the students gained valuable insights and a broadened perspective on secondary education, supporting their transition to high school.
My daughter absolutely loved the Enrichment program! The classes were enjoyable, the teachers fun and engaging. She came home so happy, and is now very excited to start her high school journey. CG#Sounds Hits the Studio
This term, our students at have been immersed in the CG#Sounds project, where they professionally recorded, mixed, and mastered their own songs. Through this hands-on experience, they gained valuable skills in the music industry while unleashing their creativity and building confidence.
Our TAP students are Game Changers
Students from our Talented Athlete Program participated in the Canterbury Bulldogs Game Changers leadership modules held at Belmore Sports Ground. The program equips high school students with essential life skills through a community collaboration, empowering students to become confident future leaders.
Graduatiuon for the Class of 2025
The MPC was packed as our community came together to celebrate our Year 12. The speeches were full of emotion and captured the spirit of the day. Our graduates celebrated with their families, whilst enjoying the amazing morning tea catered by our hospitality students and TAS faculty who did an job.
School Spectacular
Our talented dance, music, and choir ensembles are excited to take the stage at this year’s School Spectacular, showcasing their hard work and passion in a spectacular celebration of the arts! Last year, our very own Afshana did a magnificent job as MC, and we can’t wait to see what this year brings.
Collaboration with Ashfield Boys for Australian Business Week (ABW)
Our students collaborated with Ashfield Boys High School to participate in a week-long company simulation program. This challenge encouraged Year 10 students to apply entrepreneurial and business skills by working in teams to develop and market products. The program culminated in a multi-modal trade display, helping students build strategic planning, marketing, and financial skills for future careers as business leaders and innovators.
