The Ex-Students’ Association was formed in 1982, mainly as a ‘help’ group for present day students.
For the past twenty years we have sponsored an outstanding Year 10 student with a scholarship (presently valued at $800) to assist her in continuing with her studies through to Year 12. Eligible applicants are assessed on their scholastic abilities, communication skills and their interaction with other students. They are girls whose families would find it financially difficult to keep them at school for the extra two years. Our past scholarship recipients have all done very well in the HSC examinations and most have gone on to university, so we are very proud that we have been able to support them in their achievements.
From 2003, our 21st year, we commenced awarding Dux prizes for the duxes of Years 7 through 12.
To fund these projects, we have meetings twice a year and we hold an annual event every October. The ‘business’ meetings are held in the Cantabrian Hall and are followed by afternoon tea. Guest speakers are often a feature and tours of the school are held on a regular basis in conjunction with these meetings.
These activities have proved to be very successful in terms of fund raising and in keeping up with old friends and each year there is a light-hearted competition to see which Year attracts the most people to the annual events. You may even meet up with one of your teachers!
Membership is $20 for three years. Membership key rings, mugs and tea towels can be purchased at the meetings or we can arrange to send them to you by mail.
